LIES AND MORE LIES
The first words I ever heard Abu Hamza say, so it seemed an apt title
for my first article. I was frustrated by the red tops' portrayal of Fundamental
Islam,so I went to Finsbury Park mosque to check out the story for myself.

MALUNG TV,BBC NEWS, in Finsbury Park
More thrills and spills from Hamza's media mosh pit including what happened
when the BBC asked me to talk to Mr Hamza for them. |
 |
POLICE OFFICER DON'T GIVE ME PRODUCER
I suppose I wrote this out of frustration with the one dimentional way
the police are often portrayed by the alternative media.(for other Socialist
Wanker stories about the Police check out Blond's wicked stonehenge
article)The article also includes more sucessful attempts to document
British Fundamental Islamists on the (many) less hysterical Fridays at
Finsbury Park mosque. |

BARRY THE BOSS
I finally got to meet the guy in charge of the Police here on the street
mosque's first aniversary. As the Sun
rallied its readership, Hamza was looking like the cat who got the
cream. I've seen Barry do great TV with the sane Canadians and the slightly
scared BBC. His relationship with the Finsbury Muslims is a story in itsef.
Barry has sackfuls of mail asking why he hasn't arrested the lot of them.

Hajj on dope
With even the "leftwing" press painting Hamza as pure evil
you may expect the people closest to him to be Militant Islamists. I hardly
spoke to Hajj before Hamza was locked up but for your average Fundamentalist,
he always came across as more fun than mental. When I finally got him
on camera I was suprised to find that he had "reverted" to Islam
from a lifestyle similar to my own.

DUMPLINGS ANYONE?
Various Muslims took it upon themselves to control media access to Abu
Hamza in the last two years using various tactics. The top prize for consistency,
style, control and hilarity goes to this guy. I very much hope to film
him for my doc, at home cooking his wife dumplings. |

UNITED BRITISH ALLIANCE
An interesting group of people who came down to Finsbury Park looking
for terrorists. I've put this together from a series of blogs. i thought
that though my initial contact with them was a bit hostile, I respected
them for the fact that they had actually come down. I have always been
interested in their concept of "Britishness"

OPENINGS AND CLOSINGS
At various times it was attempted to reopen the mosque. Round the corner,
Muslims were crammed into the mosque by the tube station. It was very
obvious that the building should be open to the community and most
people who were closest to the situation seemed to agree that no one on
the street was a threat.

ABU ABDULLAH EXPOSED!
When the Mirror
published an article gained from 5 weeks of "undercover" work
at the mosque I felt I had to write my own version. Read the Mirror's
